Final
Project Overview
For this project, I chose to illustrate a zebra, of which is a professor, and include five different personality traits. The traits chosen were happy, pompous, angry, meek and powerful. The project required two backgrounds to place the characters on.
Explanation
This was a very difficult project for me. The largest challenge was taking what I saw in my mind and replicating it onto tracing paper. My process included relentless back and forth drawing and erasing on tracing paper until I was pleased with how it looked. I then transferred it onto white paper to begin my final construction of the zebras. After finalizing each zebra with its own background, I found out I mistakenly did part of the project incorrect. At this point, I adjusted my errors and placed my zebras together with two separate backgrounds. I combined the ideas I originally had for each zebra into two cohesive backgrounds. The project was very difficult, however, I have gained experience in character design and familiarized myself with colored pencils.
Ultimately, I am pleased with the final outcome of the Character Design project. Before this project, I would have labeled myself as a weak drawer, but after this project I feel I have improved my drawing techniques.
