Project Overview

"I was in my room and... from where I was I witnessed a crime."

This sentence was the base to my project. We were to photograph a personal space and illustrate them in a compelling way to follow our scenarios. The final outcome had to reflect the work of Jeffrey Catherine Jones.

Explanation

From the beginning of choosing my sentence I knew I did not want the outcome to be 'dark' or 'tragic', so I opted for a humorous ending. Originally I wanted to incorporate a pet dog into my idea, however, through mind-mapping I decided a dog was too typical. It was too simple to include a pet toy, food bowl and scattered dog food, so it was at that point I decided to adjust my idea. I chose to change the animal into a squirrel and increase the 'mess' factor of my project.

After photographing my scenarios, the next step was to use india ink on denril. Ultimately in Adobe Photoshop we adjusted the threshold of our inked images to lay them out in a progressive manner.
